Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band celebrates 16 years of developing and presenting new music for big band on January 16th.

For this anniversary concert,.the wonderful poet Kirpal Gordon returns reading from Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass” to the music of Russ Vines “Lose Not Our Sons”.

Also, a new composition by resident composer Marty Fogel, first time contributor Craig Yaremko, Chris Rogers comes back with his arrangement of Tom Harrell’s tune “The Water’s Edge”…and of course..favorites from resident composers Jim Cifelli, Matt Haviland, Rob Henke, Rob Middleton, Diane Moser, Erick Storckman and Ed Xiques.

Let us know what your favorite charts have been over the years…any special requests for this Wednesday? Let me know by Tuesday evening!

You can post your favorite memories of the band on my Facebook page, and if you’re not on FB…send it to me and I’ll post it for you!

Thank you so much for all of your support…we could not have done this without you!
And…in the words of Gary Walker from this month’s Hot House issue…”16 years, whatya’ get…a night of great music you sure won’t forget!”

True that!!
